This is a question I get asked frequently.
'What height should I hang my painting?'
Please see below for my 3 tips:
1. The most common height when hanging over a sofa is 1.45m/57" from the floor.
2. When hanging over a sideboard or piece of furniture the general rule is 6-8" above the top of this.
3. When hanging several small pieces of art together in the same area, treat it as one large piece of art with a centre focal point at 57" & the spacing between them should be 3-6".
